Venom 2 Let There Be Carnage Review -Venom It’s hard to believe, but there was a time when Venom wasn’t a joke. The character had been developed for some years before Tom Hardy came on board and brought it to life with his own personality and look. Venom 2 is the sequel to Sony Pictures’ original movie that released in 2018, and it’s worth seeing for anyone who enjoys sci-fi thrillers or superhero movies with twists.

Plot
The plot is based on the Venom comics, which are set in the Marvel Universe. The movie follows Eddie Brock, a journalist who gets infected by a symbiote while investigating an alien invasion. After he becomes the host to a new breed of alien named Venom (who looks like a green version of Spider-Man), they have to work together as one to stop it from taking over Earth and destroying all life on it!
As you can tell by this description, it sounds pretty rough—but don’t worry! You’ll be able to get through this one without getting too scared or confused about what’s going on in your head. If anything gets too confusing for you (and trust us: there will be times when things do), just watch our video review above for help explaining everything that happens throughout this film!
Cast
The cast of Venom 2 is absolutely packed with talent, from Tom Hardy and Michelle Williams to Riz Ahmed and Woody Harrelson. Tom Hardy plays Eddie Brock/Venom, who has now become a symbol for hope after he was cured from his cancer. He’s still struggling with his past as well as trying to live a normal life with his girlfriend Anne Weying (Williams).
Michelle Williams plays Dr. Anne Weying, who has been dating Eddie since they met at Harvard University years ago but they’ve never gotten married because she doesn’t want kids (which may not be true since she seems like she wants them). She works at an animal research facility where her boss tells her that there’s a patient named “Franklin Storm” who needs help getting rid off this infection called “the symbiote.” Unfortunately for her boss though…he doesn’t know anything about this disease either!
Direction
Venom 2 is a sequel to the first Venom movie and it’s directed by Ruben Fleischer. The director has directed other movies such as Zombieland and Gangster Squad, which means you can expect some serious action in this film!
Venom 2 takes place after Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) has left S.H.I.E.L.D., but before he becomes Venom once more when Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed) asks him to help him cure his daughter’s autism by injecting her with a serum that turns her into Carnage (Alicia Vikander).
Acting
The acting in this movie is good, but it could have been better. Tom Hardy is the best actor in this movie and does a great job at portraying Eddie Brock/Venom. Riz Ahmed plays Carlton Drake as a villain, who’s kind of funny at times but also has some great scenes where he’s intimidating or threatening someone. Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate play Dr. Anne Weart (the head scientist) and Dr Thomas “Tommy” Gibbons (Eddie’s best friend). Both actresses do well with their performances, because you can tell how much trouble they’re having trying to keep up with whatever plot happens next!
The rest of the cast are not bad either: Woody Harrelson plays Agent Zed before turning into Cletus Kasady; Sanaa Lathan plays Peter Parker’s girlfriend Mary Jane Watson; Reid Scott plays Cornell Stokes’ assistant agent Carlie Cooper; Derek Wilson reprises his role as Flash Thompson aka Scorpion from Spider-Man 3; Betty Buckley returns as Madame Web while JB Blanc makes his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Ben Grimm aka The Thing
Story
The story is a sequel to Venom, and it picks up where that film left off. Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is still struggling with his inner demons after he was bonded with the alien symbiote known as Venom in the first movie. His girlfriend Anne Weying (Michelle Williams) tells him she wants him to leave her alone when she finds out about his secret life as an investigative reporter for The Wall Street Journal who investigates shady companies like Roxxon Energy Corporation, headed by Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed).
In order for Anne to get the scoop on what’s really going on at Roxxon Energy Corporation, she convinces Eddie to go undercover at their annual shareholders meeting by pretending he works there as well—and then gets herself kidnapped by Hunter Rose (Riz Ahmed), another member of Drake’s organization known only as “Jay”
Music
The music in Venom 2 is a major part of the film, and it does an excellent job at setting the tone for each scene. The soundtrack is comprised mostly of rock songs from various artists like Metallica, AC/DC and Guns N’ Roses, but there are also some classical pieces thrown in for good measure.
The music isn’t too loud or quiet—it’s just right for what you’re watching. It’s not distracting either; if anything it adds to the overall feeling that this movie has going on with its fast-paced action sequences paired with some intense scenes featuring Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) fighting against his own personal demons while trying to figure out who he really is again after being bonded with one another through their symbiotic relationship as well as sharing each other’s DNA!
Dialogues
The dialogues in Venom 2 are good and well written. They are delivered with a lot of energy by Tom Hardy, who plays Eddie Brock/Venom.
The first thing that you will notice is that the dialogues are very funny which makes this movie more enjoyable to watch. The second thing is that there are no unnecessary scenes or songs in this movie, so you do not have to worry about having a boring time while watching it with your friends or family members as it has been kept short yet entertaining enough for everyone who loves action packed movies like these ones!
Screenplay
The screenplay is one of the most important aspects of any film. It has to be written well and should also have some originality, so that it can make us feel good while watching it. Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage had a good screenplay with some interesting dialogues, direction and acting by Venom himself (Tom Hardy). The story was also very interesting with some twists that kept you guessing till the end! I think this movie will make many fans happy as they’ll get their favorite comic book character on screen in front of them!
Venom 2 is worth seeing
- Venom 2 is a sequel to the 2012 film, Venom.
- Tom Hardy reprises his role as Eddie Brock/Venom in this film, which takes place after the events of the first movie.
- The cast includes Michelle Williams as Anne Weying and Riz Ahmed as Carlton Drake (who was previously played by Topher Grace).
- Director Ruben Fleischer returns to direct this sequel, with Michael Keaton taking over for Tom Hardy onscreen after he departed due to scheduling issues with Mission: Impossible – Fallout (which was released just one month before).
- The directorial debut from Fleischer follows up from his work on previous installments in the franchise such as Zombieland and 22 Jump Street; this brings him back into familiar territory when it comes down to genre conventions like violence against women or racial tension between characters within these films’ worlds.”
Conclusion
Venom 2 is worth seeing. It has a good plot and the cast is great, but it also has many flaws and problems that keep it from being great.
